Fun Festive Activities in Colorado

Fun Festive Activities in Colorado

Let It Snow

There are some fun festive activities in Colorado this month that you may want to check out!  Whether you are new to the area or a native these may be activities you have never seen or could quite possibly your family’s annual tradition or will start to make a tradition.  We all know and love Colorado’s amazing and beautiful mountain landscape and when you add Holiday festivities it just makes it all seem more magical this time of the year.

Georgetown is one of my favorites and first on my list.  In December the town transforms into a scene of Christmas long ago, with carolers, horse-drawn wagon rides, roasted chestnuts and streets beautifully decorated.  There is no admission fee but there are some cute local shops that have unique gifts and crafts. You can finally find that uniquely special gift for that person who has everything!  The Georgetown Christmas market is this weekend Dec.5-6 & next weekend Dec.12th & 13th from 10:00am – 5:00pm.  While you up there you may also want to also go on the Georgetown Loop train  which runs during the day and at night, both have a different experience (night has a lighted forest) but both include a visit from Santa and Mrs. Clause! We did this last year with our 3 year old and she loved it!

This weekend and next is also the designated time to go cut your own Christmas tree! All you pay for is the permit which is $10.  Here is a link to all the information including the map and locations of where you can go cut your own tree as well as the permit information. And to make a day out of it you can go to an area that is close to some snow tubing! Here is some info & locations for snow tubing and sledding. Most of these locations provide the tubes and sleds as well as a lift back up from the hill so you can have endless fun!

There are few more activities in and around Denver that will be taking place this weekend, including tonight.  9 News posted a great article with all the links if you would like to find out more check it out here.

Whatever you decide to do, we hope you have fun and are safe! Make sure to send us a shout, share a story and/or picture!

Cheers!
