Denver Gets Praises from Forbes Magazine

Denver Gets Praises from Forbes Magazine

Denver receives high praise from Forbes magazine that includes Denver on it’s list of 15 U.S. cities with emerging downtowns, highlighting a picture of the development around Union Station.

One of the biggest factors businesses consider when relocation or expanding a business is the available pool of college-educated workers.  And that has cities competing for college-educated young adults.  Most college-educated professionals between the ages of 25-34, tends to want to live in  “tight-knit” urban neighborhoods, which are close to work and have lots of entertainment and shopping options within walking distance.

“Denver’s LoDo is a trendy ‘hood of over 100 restored Victorian warehouses and buildings filled with art galleries, boutiques, local eateries and nightclubs.  Now Denver is in the midst of a 20-year, seven-mega project plan to expand and the revitalization efforts through the rest of downtown.” The article quotes Tami Door, chief executive of the Downtown Denver Partnership, as saying the partnership carefully evaluated what future workforce is looking for and “we incorporate those demands into what we are building”

This hits home for me because I love living in Denver and for all those reasons mentioned in the article!  I enjoy the ability to be able to walk to most Denver attractions or be near the public transportation to take me to all events in and around Denver.  For example I walked from my home (old Victorian, that I am in the process of renovating) to the Pepsi center for a Nuggets game, which only took me around 25 min. Or that I can walk to the Denver Art Museum, The Civic Center, The Library, etc., the list goes on.

I am excited to see the Denver getting this great  well deserved recognition and news for Denver!  Click here for full Forbes article.

Cheers Denver~
