I don’t know about you but the Holidays and the cold weather have me thinking about a little pampering for not only myself but also as a gift for someone special. I’ve been doing some reading and research (mainly 5280 magazine) on a few ideas for those who seem to have a everything and you don’t know what to get them. (As well as a little me time which will be needed after of even before the Holidays)
A few good options I found which are on the unique side is The Dragontree Spa in Boulder, that specializing in detoxifying foot baths which can also include a 20, 30 or 40 minute neck, foot or hand massage to optimize your tranquility! Or how about the Polished Nail Boutique & Beauty Lounge, that offers “pipe-less” technology pedicure chairs, individual mani/pedi kits for each client and organic products as well as only offering formaldehyde-free polish formulas.
For some always needed relaxation and pampering a personal favorite of mine is the Izba Spa. For the past 20 years, this Russian inspired spa provides traditional banyan service which include starting you in the 160 degree sauna where they will pour peppermint & lavender essential oil infused water over the heated rocks, then your gently swatted with oak twigs, slathered with honey and then cold water is poured all over you to cool off (which is needed at this point)! After that you are onto the massage table where you get an unforgettable, amazing head to toe body massage. You can get packages from 90 minutes on up to 2.5 hours. This is definitely a hidden gem and one you need to experience!
Now if you are just looking for some “me” time and need just a quick break from the hustle bustle of shopping, work and/or kids, try out a local down to earth coffee shop such as the Amethyst Coffee Company or maybe for little more than a coffee shop check out the Bellwether which includes a clothing boutique and also has a whiskey bar.
Whatever you fancy, there are plenty of finds in our wonderful neighborhoods. Keep checking back for more and please be sure to share any finds you may have! Next post will be some more winter adventures!
