There are some rare finds and events happening this weekend in and around Denver. Instead of you needing to search for things to do we wanted to help by bringing you some options.
All this week if you haven’t heard or had a chance to check out the #RiNo district. This week is Crush 2016, which is a week long celebration of showcasing with the mission of celebrating art, urban beautification, creativity and culture by enriching the community through an arts festival. It includes live music performances, street artists bring life to Denver’s walls, Crush discounts at the stores (Epic Ryde, Crush, Crush Juice Stop). Check out the schedule here.
Local business owner Gary Lee is being honored this weekend at his rockabilly watering hole Gary Lee’s Motor Club & Grub. There will be three days of celebration everything Gary loved starting this Friday @ 8 PM and continues through the weekend. This is the first of what will become an annual event. It will includes live music, pin-up fashion show, pompadour and pin up hair contests, silent auctions where benefits will go to Max Fund.
Cherry Creek North is having the 2nd annual art feast on Saturday Sept. 17th from 3-6 pm. This is a collision of food and art during an exclusive walking tour of Cherry Creek North. Free Admission! You get to experience the great pairing of Cherry Creek Restaurants with galleries wanting to showcase their crafts, skills, styles and bites to the general public. Enjoy a nice walk through Cherry Creek North’s shopping district and stop at each gallery to see what they have to offer.
One last great find for the weekend that is FREE on Saturday & Sunday, is the Cherry Art Festival at The Stanley Marketplace. The Grand Opening of the festival is Friday Sept.16th but will cost you $60-75 a ticket. Labor Day weekend I posted and featured The Stanley Marketplace, which is a former aviation building that is being transformed into a community hub for local businesses. This is another great opportunity to check it out.
Hopefully this gives you a good variety of options this weekend, there are much more but I couldn’t get them all in, for more options a good place to scout out some unique finds is 303Magazine, 5280 Magazine & of course Westword.
