We all know “show me the Carfax” when you are purchasing a car, well now thanks to a Boulder-based dot-com company, we will have “show me the Housefax”!
Beginning in late April, house hunters will be able to order a “Housefax”, a comprehensive report on the property’s history which will include information about insurance claims, building permits, fire-related incidences, meth-lab and sinkhole hazards along with other data.
Housefax.com, will have dual headquarters in Boulder and northern Virginia and will charge between $39 to $79 per report and will be delivered instantly via email.
Michael Abdy, an entrepreneur who also happens to be a licensed Realtor and an undergrad at University of Colorado at Boulder teamed up with Eddy Lang and insurance veteran in Haymarket, Va. to create this new found company.
I think this will be a welcomed service to home buyers as well as Realtors. It is a way to help out clients when seriously looking to put an offer on a home. Now this report should definitely not be replaced by a home inspection. When purchasing a home you should ALWAYS get an inspection! But this does help prior to putting an offer on a property.
