I have to say that Denver makes it pretty hard to not get into the holiday spirit. We made it to the parade of lights and not only was the parade spectacular but seeing downtown in lights was just the kickstart to feeling the excitement for this Holiday season.
While I was at the parade of lights I noticed the Denver Christkindl Market right next to Skyline park. This market is filled with unique gifts from some local vendors as well as food and beverages to enjoy while your shopping. This is on my list of “to do’s” this weekend so felt I needed to share. Also, just a quick note about Skyline Park, if you are not familiar with Skyline park there is an outdoor ice skating rink that is extremely affordable! It’s FREE, you only have to pay $2 for skate rentals!
While your downtown you may want to head over to the Denver Pavilions Holiday Carousel. It is free with any purchase made at any of the Pavilions merchants or it is $3 and a portion of the proceeds will be going to the Foodbank of the Rockies.
If you are still looking for some unique gifts and possibly even ones that will support local business, here is a great list of items 303 Magazine posted, I highly recommend checking it out! Here are a few from the list that I would like to highlight; the first one is for the “foodies” on your list, check out Eat Denver Dining Deck, it has 60 EatDenver members such as Mizuna, Steuben’s, Linger, Due & More with $560 dining deals from these independent restaurants. Second, for the hipster in your life or the one who has everything and you don’t know what to gift them, I suggest a Vinyl Me, Please subscription. They will get a new vinyl record every month with an original art print and a custom cocktail recipe, can I just say awesome! And the last one I want to highlight is a Denver Art Museum membership. The museum has seriously kicked it up a notch with its special exhibits, including the current Star Wars display. This is a gift that gives throughout the year!
As always, if you know of an event or great local business you would like to give a shout out too, please let us know, post it on our FB page or just simply send me an email.
